INTRODUCTION

Railway occupations have a very close relationship with employees, as every employee had/has an occupation. Due to the fact that many occupations have been referred to by different titles over the years, those NZR occupations that have been referred to by sometimes several names will be standardised to a single name that has more relevance to modern-day people. All earlier names will be listed at the start of each page with those earlier names only linking to the modern name page.
