Maungamaunu – earthwork for station yard now completed. Yard has been constructed cheaply as material, which otherwise would have been run to spoil, was used. Only the earthworks for this yard been completed to date at a cost of £800.

It is considered a the station yard and stock facilities between Kaikoura and Aniseed should be located at Hapuku North, about five and a half miles from Kaikoura. This will eliminate the necessity for a station at Maungamaunu.
