The story of NZR early Passenger Carriages has been told in infinite detail by John Agnew in a series of articles published in [[Railfan]] spanning 11 years. With the first article appearing in December 2008, which looked at early car-vans, and ending with an article on Troop movements and Royal visits in December 2020. Sadly Railfan ceased publication then and what I presume were the last 2 articles in the Royal Visit series never got published.
